There is no music like live music. It’s a transcendent experience

Thomas A. Wright, Jr. a native of Prince George’s County, began his music ascension at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. He played saxophone, clarinet and sang in the gospel choir. He was selected to the all-county Honors Band for Two years, and performed at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. At Morehouse College he performed with the renowned Morehouse College Glee Club, and played in the college’s marching band. Thomas educated many Prince George’s county students teaching piano and choral performance at Laurel High School. He moved to NY where he was in charge of the performing arts department at Harlem Village Academy, piano program director and gospel choir director at Edward R Murrow High School in Brooklyn. He earned a master of arts degree from Columbia University Teachers College. Thomas played the pipe organ at churches both in the DMV and NY areas. He was often sought after as an accompanist for local classical virtuosos. Music was Thomas’ life. He always had a song in his heart.
